Sydney Philharmonia Choirs Grant

Sydney Philharmonia Choirs is absolutely delighted to receive a grant from the Wilson Foundation.

One of Australia's largest and longest-established choral organisations, Sydney Philharmonia Choirs brings together more than 2,000 singers each year across multiple ensembles, with more than 700 choristers rehearsing every week, and culminating in around 50 performances annually.

The Wilson Foundation's support comes at a pivotal moment in SPC's development.

The organisation is expanding its investment in emerging artists while taking its music-making beyond Sydney to regional New South Wales, interstate and internationally. In 2026, 150 SPC choristers will travel to perform at the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall, with further international projects already planned for 2027 and beyond. A regional NSW tour, launching in 2027, will become a regular part of the company's activities, helping to share the transformative power of choral singing with new audiences and communities.

SPC is also building on its Emerging Composer and Conducting Fellow programs, launched in 2025, to nurture the next generation of choral artists and leaders. Alongside these new initiatives, the organisation continues to rehearse and perform with its three auditioned and three community choirs, bringing together singers aged from 18 to over 80 in ensembles ranging from 40 to 450 members.
